TEXT ABUSE ‘COWARD’, ‘PIG’ COULD BE OUT OF JAIL BY FRIDAY

A bully who’s been locked up and labelled a ‘coward’ in court…may be released from jail as early as Friday after lodging an appeal against his jail sentence. Dan Shearin pleaded guilty to a charge of using a carriage service to harass his then girlfriend Breeana Robinson. The court was told he bombarded her with hundreds of abusive messages…even ridiculing her for being legally blind. After a month of living with him, Breeana took her own life, plunging from their Southport highrise balcony. The family says more than a dozen women have spoken to police with similar stories about Mister Shearin. “I started this journey alone really and now Ive got so much strength around me and together, all those women out there, come forward, we need you more than ever.” Read More »

More cranes will begin dotting Southport skyline as Council’s plan to revitalise the suburb takes effect. Work has begun on one of the first buildings approved since the new C-B-D was declared a Priority Development Area. “yeah its helped no ends, being able to 7 storeys on a block like this it wouldnt have been able to so previously, obviously makes the projects viable for developers to go ahead a build them.” The apartment complex should be finished by mid next year, with construction to create more than 100 jobs. TRAFFIC AT A STANDSTILL AFTER SEVEN-CAR CRASH

A seven-car accident at Southport this morning, had traffic at a standstill for more than two hours. The cars came together in the middle of the Sundale Bridge at around 11:30… but the resulting congestion didn’t clear until almost two o’clock. Miraculously, no one was injured. Read More »
