SEXUAL ASSAULT IN PORT MACQUARIE BUSHLAND

Police are appealing for information after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in Port Macquarie last week. On Wednesday night, the 46-year old was walking along Ocean Drive, when she was grabbed from behind and forced into nearby bushland. She was found at the scene sometime later. THE LEANING CRANE OF PORT

Construction at the new Subaru complex in Port Macquarie came to a halt on Thursday morning, when a crane suddenly lurched sideways. The crane had been set up to lift a container from nearby Gordon Street, when the ground underneath it gave way. It fell towards a nearby car park, before crashing into a retaining wall. NEW OPERATIONS CENTRE FOR SURF LIFE SAVING NSW

Surf Life Saving New South Wales could have a new regional operations and training centre by as early as February next year. Excavations on the Central Road site have begun, with construction to start in the coming weeks. Funding for the project, which is worth more than $2-million, will be split between the federal government and Surf Life Saving New South Wales. LOWER GRADE BOWLERS HAVE A CHANCE AT WINNING BIG

A three-day competition for lower-grade bowlers in Port Macquarie has wound up, after drawing teams from far north Queensland to Victoria. Now in its fifth year, the annual tournament gives 6th and 7th grade players a shot at winning $10,000.
