FUNDING GRANTS FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY ENTREPRENEURS

Clean energy entrepreneurs are urged to put their best project forward for the state government’s Renewable Energy Action Plan. Projects can receive funds of up to $70,000 to help develop a prototype. Member for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams says the grant will help develop renewable energy solutions specific to the community’s needs. “Community renewable projects are quite significant because it means that the community basically owns the project, they provide the idea, they provide the input and at the end of the day they’re the ones who actually get the benefits.” (Audio in parts) Read More »

Port Macquarie residents are being urged to have their say on the future of the CBD foreshore. The draft plan of management closes on Friday, and encompasses foreshore reserves from Settlement Point to Town Beach. Once finalised, it will provide a framework for future commercial and recreational developments, including the Short Street Plaza carpark. POLICE APPEAL FOR WITNESSES AFTER WOMAN ASSAULTED

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted in Port Macquarie on Sunday night. Just after 7-o’clock, the 43-year-old was confronted by a man and assaulted near the break wall. A popular public art sculpture has been stolen from Port Macquarie. Police believe the Hello Koalas “Starry Soul” sculpture was taken between midnight Sunday and 7am Monday morning from the Town Green.
