SHOP ATTENDANT STABBED IN ARMED ROBBERY

A 26-year-old male shop attendant was stabbed in the chest during an armed robbery at Lake Macquarie last night. At around 7pm, a man entered a convenience store along the Pacific Highway at Marks Point and threatened him with a knife. The man stabbed him in the chest, before fleeing on foot with a small amount of cash. The shop attendant was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition. Police are looking for a man described as being Caucasian, in his 30s, around 176-centimetres tall with a medium build. APPEAL TO FIND MISSING MAN

Police are appealing for information to find a missing Lake Macquarie man. 27-year-old Christopher Daunt was last seen on March 29 at his home in Gateshead. His family holds serious concerns for his welfare. Christopher is described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 183-centimetres tall with brown hair. It’s also believed he was driving a 2013 white Ford falcon utility, with NSW registration CRQ97C. Read More »

MAN CHARGED OVER CARDIFF STABBING

A man has been charged over a stabbing at Cardiff at the weekend. Police say an argument broke out between a two men on Saturday night at a home on Wendy Street. It’s alleged a 34-year-old man stabbed a 29-year-old man multiple times in the abdomen. He was taken to John Hunter Hospital where he remains in a stable condition. The 34-year-old will face Newcastle Local Court today. Read More »

MAN STABBED IN NEWCASTLE

Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in Newcastle last night. A 24-year-old was walking on Hunter Street, near the footbridge at Market Street, at around 9:30pm when he was approached by a man. Police say an altercation took place and he was stabbed in the stomach. He was taken to John Hunter Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigators would like to speak a man described as being Caucasian in appearance with lightly tanned skin. He’s in his mid 20s and has a skinny build and black hair. MAN CHARGED WITH STEALING MOTOR VEHICLE

A man has been charged following a daylight robbery at Wyee Point Marina on Good Friday. CCTV vision captured a black Mitsubishi Magna pulling up outside the property, before two men loaded a $12,000 Yamaha motorcycle into a trailer. Yesterday officers arrested one of the men allegedly involved on Kimbul Road. The 35-year-old was charged with stealing a motor vehicle and was granted conditional bail to face Toronto Local Court on May 6. Read More »

MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER OF FOOTBALLER

A man has been charged with murder over the death of a Central Coast football player on Easter Sunday. Greg Gibbons left the Beachcomber Hotel at Toukley at around midnight and went to a nearby pizza shop. The 28-year-old, who played with the Wyong Roos Rugby League Club, was stabbed in the chest outside the eatery. He went into cardiac arrest and died in hospital. A 25-year-old man also suffered stab wounds and is undergoing surgery. A 20-year-old man was arrested in Halekulani last night and charged with murder. He’ll appear before Wyong Local Court today. DOYALSON CRASH CLAIMS ANOTHER YOUNG LIFE

A nine-year-old boy has lost his fight for life, after a car crash at Doyalson on Saturday. A Holden Astra and Toyota Hilux collided on Wyee Road just after 5pm in heavy rain. The boy was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, along with his eight-year-old sister, but sadly both passed away. A 12-year-old boy, as well as four women aged between 31 and 61, were taken to John Hunter Hospital and are in a stable condition. Read More »
