CAR STOLEN AT JESMOND

Newcastle police are looking for a man, who stole a car and led officers on a chase last night. The Ford Laser was taken from Bluegum Road at Jesmond just after 8pm. Police chased the car for a short time, but ended the pursuit near John Hunter Hospital. The man is described as being around 25 years old, with a shaved head and black stubble. CHILD APPROACHED AT NORTH GOSFORD

Police are appealing for the public’s help to find a man, who approached a young girl on the Central Coast. The 8-year-old was walking along Dwyer Street at North Gosford yesterday morning, when the man approached her from the opposite direction. Police say he grabbed the girl’s left arm and shoulder several times, before he released her. The man’s described as being Asian in appearance, about 183-centimetres tall with a thin build and short black hair. Read More »

Police say festival goers at this weekend’s Festival of the Sun in Port Macquarie were relatively well behaved. Only a small number of people were charged with minor drug or alcohol related offences. SHOTS FIRED INTO COFFS HARBOUR HOME

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward, after shots were fired into a home at Coffs Harbour. The home on Prince James Avenue was unoccupied when several shots were fired from a car at around 1am on Sunday. It’s unknown how many people were in the vehicle, which is believed to be a silver or white late-model utility. It was last seen being driven away in a southerly direction. BODY FOUND IN HUNTER RIVER

Police are working to formally identify a woman, who’s body was found near Maitland yesterday. A kayaker made the discovery in the Hunter River at Lorn, at around 11:30am. The area was examined by forensic specialists, before the Water Police and Rescue Squad removed the body. A report is being prepared for the coroner. Read More »

GIRL APPROACHED BY MAN AT WOY WOY

Police are appealing for the public’s help after a teenage girl was approached by a man at Woy Woy. The 13-year-old was waiting with her mother at the ferry wharf yesterday morning, when a man started talking to her. Police say the girl’s mother told him to leave, but he continued to question her. It was after the mother confornted him again, he walked off towards Brickwharf Road. The man’s been described as 60 to 70 years old, with black/grey hair and a moustache. Read More »
