WANDERERS BOUNCE BACK TO BEAT THE GREENS

In Newcastle and Hunter rugby Wanderers have beaten Merewether, to book a place in the grand final against Southern Beaches. Both sides had their chances before the Greens opened the scoring through Cory Nash. Wanderers responded as Andrew Tuala got the Two Blues back in it. James Wivell then made it 10-5 to the home side. Both sides then lost a player to the bin and the Greens took advantage, as Riley Smith put Merewether in front shortly before the break. GREEN TRUMPS RED IN THE NHRU FINALS

Merewether has knocked The Waratahs out of the NHRU finals. The Tahs wasted little time getting on the board, Tim Riley had too much pace for the Greens. Merewether hit back a few minutes later, as Blake Creighton dived over. The Greens pushed further in front when skipper Gareth Ernst found space near the posts.
