MAN STABBED DURING HOME INVASION

A 60-year-old man is in a stable condition at John Hunter Hospital after being stabbed several times during a home invasion at Merewether. Police say four people, believed to be two men and two women, forced their way into the Watkins Street unit at around 8:20 last night and demanded money. ICAC INQUIRY TO FOCUS ON NEWCASTLE

Alleged donations made by Hunter developers, including Hilton Grugeon and Jeff McCloy to the Liberal Party’s 2011 state election campaign for the seat of Newcastle, will be the focus of a new round of ICAC hearings. The ongoing inquiry – due to resume next Wednesday – is examining whether MPs solicited and received donations from prohibited donors.
