COUPLE CHARGED WITH MURDER

A couple charged over the fatal stabbing of a 43-year-old Wauchope man last Friday appeared in Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday morning. 38-year-old Trudy Jane Sheiles is facing one count of murder, while 43-year-old Ryan James Smith is accused of being an accessory after the fact to murder. A Southport man, who allegedly killed his neighbour by putting him in a chokehold, has been granted bail. 23 year old Sanchez is alleged to have murdered his neighbour, Kane Barry during a fight outside their Southport unit block in September. INVESTIGATION CONTINUES AT SCENE OF WEST GOSFORD MURDER

Detectives have returned to the scene of a Central Coast murder to conduct further forensic tests. 29-year-old, Laurie Starling, was shot dead out the front of his West Gosford business on July 24. Police now believe at least three people were present at the time and that outlaw motorcycle gang members were involved in the murder. “We have information to suggest they were from out of town, but were probably collaborating with people from the Central Coast in planning the shooting of Mr Starling,” said Detective Inspector Grant Taylor from the Homicide Squad. MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER AFTER WOMAN’S BODY FOUND

A Windale man has been charged with murder after a woman’s body was found in a reserve at Lake Macquarie yesterday. Renee Mitchell was found by a member of the public in the Bangalay Reserve at Windale at around 6:30am. Five hours later, police stopped a vehicle on Myall Road at Cardiff and arrested a 66-year-old man. He was taken to Charlestown Police Station and charged. MOTHER CHARGED WITH MURDERING HER BABY

A Paradise Point woman has been charged with murdering her newborn baby. The 35 year-old was taken into custody this morning after detectives executed a search warrant at her home, following a four month investigation by the Child Protection and Investigation Unit. Suspicions were raised after the little boy was brought into the Emergency Ward of the Gold Coast University with injuries and later died. The woman has two other children and will remain behind bars tonight, before fronting Court in the morning. Read More »

MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER OF HOMELESS MAN

A 38-year-old man has been charged with murder, following the death of a homeless man at Tweed Heads. Police allege the man was involved in a fight with 48-year-old Hoani Shaune Love, outside a shopping centre on September 27. Mr Love suffered serious head injuries and died in hospital three days later. The man is appearing before Tweed Heads Local Court today. Read More »
