The SES says it’s received several calls from residents who’ve had people calling them, claiming they are members of the organisation and are running a raffle to support flood victims. The SES says it does NOT operate any such raffles. Authorities are also warning of people dressed as SES volunteers and door knocking for donations at Lake Macquarie, as well as Tanilba Bay in Port Stephens. Again, the SES says it NEVER door knocks residents. Meanwhile residents in Bolton Point at Lake Macquarie have also reported seeing people dressed as SES volunteers and looting homes in the area. SHOP ATTENDANT STABBED IN ARMED ROBBERY

A 26-year-old male shop attendant was stabbed in the chest during an armed robbery at Lake Macquarie last night. At around 7pm, a man entered a convenience store along the Pacific Highway at Marks Point and threatened him with a knife. The man stabbed him in the chest, before fleeing on foot with a small amount of cash. The shop attendant was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition. Police are looking for a man described as being Caucasian, in his 30s, around 176-centimetres tall with a medium build. APPEAL TO FIND MISSING MAN

Police are appealing for information to find a missing Lake Macquarie man. 27-year-old Christopher Daunt was last seen on March 29 at his home in Gateshead. His family holds serious concerns for his welfare. Christopher is described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 183-centimetres tall with brown hair. It’s also believed he was driving a 2013 white Ford falcon utility, with NSW registration CRQ97C. Read More »

MAN CHARGED OVER THEFT OF MOTORCYCLE

A man has been charged over the theft of a motorbike at Wyee Point Marina on Good Friday. CCTV vision captured a black Mitsubishi Magna pulling up outside the property, before two men loaded a $12,000 Yamaha onto a trailer. Yesterday, police arrested a man at Brightwaters. MAN CHARGED WITH STEALING MOTOR VEHICLE

A man has been charged following a daylight robbery at Wyee Point Marina on Good Friday. CCTV vision captured a black Mitsubishi Magna pulling up outside the property, before two men loaded a $12,000 Yamaha motorcycle into a trailer. Yesterday officers arrested one of the men allegedly involved on Kimbul Road. The 35-year-old was charged with stealing a motor vehicle and was granted conditional bail to face Toronto Local Court on May 6. Read More »

THIEVES STEAL $12,000 MOTORBIKE

A Lake Macquarie resident has released CCTV footage, in the hope of catching two men who stole his motorbike. The brazen theives can be seen scoping out the property at Wyee Point Marina at around 7:30am on Good Friday. They then reverse their black Mitsubishi, which is towing a trailer, on to the front yard, before loading up the $12,000 Yamaha motorbike and driving off. MAN INJURED AT FRAZER PARK

Two men are being assessed by paramedics, after being rescued at Frazer Park this afternoon. It’s believed one man fell into the water and the other jumped in to save him, but both struck trouble. Police are warning residents in the Lake Macquarie suburb of Eleebana to watch out for con men. Officers say the men, believed to be Irish or British, have been approaching locals and offering to work on their homes in exchange for cash. They’re concerned vulnerable people may be targeted.
