WOMAN THREATENED AT GUNPOINT IN HOME INVASION

A 21-year-old woman was threatened at gunpoint during a home invasion on the Central Coast. The man entered the home at Gorokan just before 8am, armed with a handgun, and demanded cash from the woman. After being told she didn’t have any, the man grabbed her phone and a camera, before getting into a white Toyota Celica which was being driven by a female. He’s described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his early 20s, with a thin build. Anyone with information should contact police. Read More »

MAN CHARGED OVER MURDER OF PREGNANT WOMAN

A man has been charged over the brutal murder of a pregnant woman on the Gold Coast. The 35-year-old Surfers Paradise man is accused of killing the woman with a tomahawk during a domestic dispute at Varsity Lakes yesterday afternoon. Emergency services found the woman with horrific head injuries. She was rushed to hospital, but died soon after. The man has been remanded in custody and will reappear at the Southport Magistrates Court in May. Read More »

INVESTIGATION CONTINUES INTO WEST GOSFORD MURDER

Police have released an image of a vehicle, believed to have been used in the murder of a Central Coast man last year. 29-year-old Laurie Starling was shot out the front of his West Gosford business on July 24. Detectives believe the car is a silver or grey 2013 model Toyota Corolla hatchback. It was captured on CCTV travelling towards Narara, before heading to Sydney soon after Mr Starling was murdered. Police say at least three men of Caucasian appearance and aged in their late 20s to early 30s were involved in the shooting. “We have reason to believe the men are members of an outlaw motorcycle gang and are likely from Sydney,” said Detective Inspector Grant Taylor. “Although we already have some very strong leads, I believe the release of this image will bring us closer to finding those ... MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER IN LISMORE

A man has been charged with murder, following an incident in Uralba Street in Lismore late last year. On Sunday December 21, a 56-year-old man was airlifted to Brisbane with a fractured skull, arm and shoulder, as well as a stab wound to his back. The man died in hospital on January 2. Yesterday police added the charge of murder to a 27-year-old man, who’s already in custody over the incident. He’s due to reappear in Lismore Local Court on February 17. Read More »

FATHER ARRESTED AFTER ARMED SIEGE

A man has been arrested after an armed siege in Bonogin. The 42 year old was allegedly threatening relatives with a knife before locking himself inside his home. Police were concerned as he was a registered gun owner with three rifles. Pol Air monitored the situation directing officers when it was safe to move in.
