MAN ARRESTED AFTER MORISSET CRASH

A 20-year-old man has been arrested after a woman was injured in a car crash at Lake Macquarie this morning. Police allege the man, who was driving a station wagon, collided with the rear of a Toyota Hilux on the M1 at Morisset, sending it over a bridge and into a creek. The female driver of the Hilux was trapped for some time before Police Rescue removed her. She was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital with serious injuries. The male driver, who holds a provisional license, was uninjured and arrested at the scene. Motorists are warned to expect significant delays north bound. (VISION ONLY) Read More »

DRIVER CRASHES V8 INTO FRONT YARDS

Ashmore residents say they’re fed up with out-of-control drivers,¬†after a 51 year old man allegedly crashed a high-powered Ford Falcon into two front yards on Cotlew Street. He’s since been charged with drink driving. Police allege the driver blew more than double the legal limit. Another neighbour says she’s had four cars crash into her front yard in the past 10 years. WITNESSES SOUGHT TO SERIOUS CRASH

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious crash in East Tamworth last night. Just before midnight, a green Nissan Pulsar collided with an Isuzu truck on Armidale Road. The driver of the car, a 31-year-old man, was taken to Tamworth Base Hospital with facial and spinal injuries, while the 51-year-old truck driver escaped unhurt. MAN INJURED IN LIGHT PLANE CRASH

A man in his 60s is in a stable condition in John Hunter Hospital, with chest and head injuries, after crashing his light plane at Putty, in the Hunter Valley, last night. The Australian Maritime Safety Authority coordinated a search at about 5pm after learning the aircraft was overdue for its scheduled landing at Luskintyre. A commercial aircraft then detected a distress beacon coming from the Cessna. A Rural Fire Service volunteer located the plane tangled in trees in a paddock. The Westpac Rescue Chopper then airlifted the pilot to hospital. Read More »

A 48-year-old man is fighting for his life after his car veered off Tallebudgera Creek Road and crashed into a tree this morning. The driver of the other car escaped uninjured. MAN CRITICAL AFTER HIGHWAY CRASH

A 24-year-old South Grafton man is in a critical condition following a collision on the Pacific Highway north of Coffs Harbour. Emergency services were called to the scene at Dirty Creek just after 4am, after a car and two trucks were involved in a crash. The driver of the car suffered chest, head and leg injuries, while the male truck drivers managed to escape unharmed. They’ve been taken to Grafton Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests. Police are investigating the cause of the crash. The Highway has now re-opened. Read More »

TODDLER INJURED AFTER CRASHING FAMILY CAR

A three-year-old boy has had to undergo emergency surgery, after running over himself with a car at Coraki. Police believe the boy was playing in the vehicle, which was parked on Donaldson Street, when he put it in neutral. It began moving and the boy jumped out, only to be hit by the car before it slammed into the front of a neighbour’s house. The neighbour and her two young granddaughters inside the home weren’t injured, while the boy is recovering in Lismore Base Hospital with a fractured leg and ribs. Read More »

NEW ENGLAND WOMAN IN SERIOUS CONDITION AFTER CRASH

A 41-year-old woman is in a serious condition, following a single car crash north of Tamworth. Emergency services were called to Manilla Road at Hallsville just before 7am, where they found a small sedan had crashed into a power pole. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash, but are examining whether speed was a factor. The Attunga woman was taken to Tamworth Base Hospital with multiple injuries. Read More »
