Emergency services are at the scene of a crash south of Byron Bay, where a truck driver has rolled his vehicle four times. The crash happened along the Pacific Highway at Knockrow at around 2pm. EIGHT PEOPLE HOSPITALISED AFTER HORROR HIGHWAY CRASH

Eight people, including a six month old baby, have been taken to hospital, following a high-speed crash on the M1 this morning. Police believe the five car pile-up at Oxenford was caused by a delivery truck that swerved into oncoming traffic. “I could see the flames and I was 2-300 metres back from it, pretty scary stuff” The female truck driver had to be pulled from her cab. LIGHT PLANE CRASHES AT LUSKINTYRE

Emergency services are at the scene of a light plane crash near Maitland. The single-engine Chipmunk, which is an antique military aircraft, came down in a property near the Luskintyre airstrip at around 12:40pm. Two people were on board, one has a broken arm and the other has chest pains. The pair – aged 30 and 39 –  is being flown to John Hunter Hospital. Read More »

OXLEY HIGHWAY CLOSED AFTER SEMI TRAILER CRASH

The Oxley Highway near Gunnedah remains closed, after a semi trailer crashed and burst into flames this morning. The driver of the truck hit a guard rail about a kilometre outside of the town just after eight o’clock. The rig, which was carrying refrigerated food,  then caught fire. The driver managed to escape uninjured. Police are investigating what caused the crash. Read More »

MAN CHARGED AFTER ALLEGEDLY CRASHING STOLEN CAR

A Toronto man will face court today on 11 charges, after crashing a stolen car near Newcastle yesterday. Police were called to Cardiff at around 6:30am after a Ford Falcon utility was stolen. They located the vehicle in Wallsend and began a pursuit, but it was terminated a short time later. The ute came to a stop in Cardiff at the intersection of Main Road and Harrison Street, after the driver allegedly lost control, hitting several cars and a pedestrian who was getting into a taxi. The pedestrian was taken to John Hunter Hospital with minor injuries. The 25-year-old driver of the ute has been charged with several offences including aggravated break, enter and steal and negligent driving. Read More »

MAN ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGEDLY CRASHING STOLEN CAR

A 25-year-old man has been arrested following a crash near Newcastle, which allegedly injured a pedestrian. Police were called to Cardiff at around 6:30 this morning after a Ford Falcon utility was allegedly stolen. They located the vehicle in Wallsend and began a pursuit, but that was terminated a short time later due to safety concerns. The ute came to a stop in Cardiff at the intersection of Main Road and Harrison Street, after the driver allegedly lost control, hitting several cars and a pedestrian who was getting into a taxi. The pedestrian was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a non-life threatening condition. The driver of the ute has been taken to Charlestown Police Station. Read More »

A brand new Mercedes Benz is now a write off after a woman smashed it into the front wall of her Surfers Paradise home. In a cruel twist of fate… the driver was setting off to get money to pay for home renovations, when she says she accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake. P-PLATE DRIVER CHARGED AFTER MORISSET CRASH

A young P-plate driver has been charged following a car crash at Morisset yesterday, which left a woman with serious head injuries. It’s alleged the 20-year-old man was driving at nearly 200-kilometres an hour along the M1, when he crashed into the back of a Toyota Hilux, sending it over a bridge and into a creek. The 38-year-old driver of the Hilux was trapped for some time before she was flown to John Hunter Hospital, where she remains in a serious but stable condition.
