A woman has died after being hit by a car on the Central Coast last night. Police say the 87-year-old was crossing York Street at East Gosford just before 8pm, when she was struck by a Holden Jackaroo. The driver – a 76-year-old man – stopped to render assistance, but the woman couldn’t be saved. He was taken to Gosford Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing. Read More »

Seven-year-old Sam Jackman from the Central Coast got to take a spin with Clive Featherby in ‘Outback Thunda.’ Featherby’s in town ahead of the World Indoor Monster Truck Championships, which will be held at Newcastle Entertainment Centre next weekend. A 20-year-old man has faced court, charged with murdering a talented Central Coast footballer. 28-year-old Greg Gibbins was allegedly stabbed in an unprovoked attack at Toukley on Sunday night. Well-known in the area, he’s being remembered as quiet and unassuming. The accused did not apply for bail and is due back in court next month. Read More »

MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER OF FOOTBALLER

A man has been charged with murder over the death of a Central Coast football player on Easter Sunday. Greg Gibbons left the Beachcomber Hotel at Toukley at around midnight and went to a nearby pizza shop. The 28-year-old, who played with the Wyong Roos Rugby League Club, was stabbed in the chest outside the eatery. He went into cardiac arrest and died in hospital. A 25-year-old man also suffered stab wounds and is undergoing surgery. A 20-year-old man was arrested in Halekulani last night and charged with murder. He’ll appear before Wyong Local Court today. DOYALSON CRASH CLAIMS ANOTHER YOUNG LIFE

A nine-year-old boy has lost his fight for life, after a car crash at Doyalson on Saturday. A Holden Astra and Toyota Hilux collided on Wyee Road just after 5pm in heavy rain. The boy was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, along with his eight-year-old sister, but sadly both passed away. A 12-year-old boy, as well as four women aged between 31 and 61, were taken to John Hunter Hospital and are in a stable condition. Read More »

FATAL STABBING ON CENTRAL COAST

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal stabbing on the Central Coast. Just after midnight, police were called to a licensed premises on Main Road at Toukley, where they found two men aged in their 20s with stab wounds. Police allege the men were injured during a fight with four other patrons. Both were treated by parademics, but the 28-year-old went into cardiac arrest and later died. A 25-year-old man remains in a serious condition at Gosford Hospital. A 20-year-old man has been arrested and is assisiting police with their inquiries. Read More »
