MAN CHARGED AFTER ALLEGED ATTACK ON BUS DRIVER

A 28-year-old Waratah man has been charged after he allegedly attacked a bus driver in Raymond Terrace. Just before 6pm yesterday, the 44-year-old driver spoke to two passengers about their use of offensive language during a trip from the Hunter Valley to Port Stephens. One of the men got off at the next stop in Raymond Terrace. When the driver asked the second man to leave, he was allegedly punched and hit over the head with a full bottle of alcohol. Police say the man continued to assault the driver after he fell to the floor. He was chased to Parkway Avenue before officers arrived. It’s alleged he also threatened them with a knife, but dropped the weapon after police drew their gun. The man is due to face Raymond Terrace Local Court today. Read More »

THREE MORE CHARGED AFTER ALLEGED POLICE ASSAULT

Three more people have been charged after two police officers were allegedly bashed at Shoal Bay over the weekend. The officers were attempting to arrest a man at around 2am on Sunday, when up to nine others allegedly assaulted them. Three men – aged 19, 24 and 26 – were arrested yesterday and each charged with assault and resisting police. They’ll face Raymond Terrace Local Court in December. POLICE APPEAL FOR WITNESSES AFTER WOMAN ASSAULTED

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted in Port Macquarie on Sunday night. Just after 7-o’clock, the 43-year-old was confronted by a man and assaulted near the break wall. TEEN CHARGED OVER COFFS HARBOUR INDECENT ASSAULT

A teenager has been charged over the indecent assault of a five-year-old girl in Coffs Harbour last month. Police allege the 15 year old approached the child in a playground of a fast-food restaurant on Park Beach Road on October 11. Following an investigation by the Child Abuse Squad, the boy was arrested yesterday and charged with indecent assault of a child. He’s been released on conditional bail. Read More »

Gold Coast internet sensation Kurt Coleman, has been bashed outside his parent’s Miami home, before being rushed to Robina Hospital. “WE THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD” WITNESSES TELL OF SURFERS BASHING

Tourists who saw a shocking bashing in Surfers Paradise, thought the victim was dead, after he was left lying on a road. The 45-year-old man was allegedly punched in the face outside a hotel on Palm Avenue around 11 o’clock last night. Police say he’d been arguing with another man inside Mantra Crown Towers before the attack. “There were loads of people crowded around him and then they rang an ambulance, ambulance turned up, it took them ages to get him on the stretcher.” “We thought he was dead.” A 37-year-old Oxenford man has been charged with grevious bodily harm, and will face Southport Court tomorrow. 61 YEAR OLD FRONTS COURT OVER POLICE STATION GRAFFITI

The 62 year old man accused of spraying graffiti over Kingscliff Police Station – while officers were inside – has fronted court. Stanley Emanuel is charged with damaging property and two counts of assaulting a police officer.
