Newcastle Jets Owner Nathan Tinkler has been cited by Football Federation Australia for allegedly breaching its code of conduct. Mr Tinkler is accused of launching a 15 minute rant at Newcastle Herald journalist Robert Dillon after last Friday’s home game against Sydney FC. Another crazy night for Kurri’s Chad Reed in the American Supercross Series. A crash worked in his favour in the heats, and he qualified second fastest for the final. But the Australian wasn’t getting ahead of himself, after a mishap of his own during practice. The incident was clearly playing on his mind in the main event. BEAU SCOTT RELEASED FROM KNIGHTS, TO JOIN EELS

Kangaroos back-rower Beau Scott will be released from the final two years of his contract with the Newcastle Knights, on compassionate grounds. It means he’s free to officially sign a three year deal with Parramatta. He joined the Knights in 2013, after a move from St George, and has been one of the club’s most consistent players. “We wish Beau the very best for his future, both personally and professionally, and look forward to him returning to the field and leading our team throughout the remainder of this season,” CEO Matt Gidley said.
