MAN TO FACE CHARGES ON CENTRAL COAST OVER ALLEGED ONLINE PAEDOPHILE RING

A 41-year-old Queensland man has been charged with the alleged sexual assault of two children, as part of the Sex Crimes Squad investigations into an online paedophile ring linked to the Central Coast. The charges relate to crimes allegedly committed against two children aged 11 and 12 in 2010. The accused has been refused bail and will face Gosford court in June. Read More »

BLUR’S BACK TO HEADLINE SPLENDOUR

English band Blur will return to Australia for the first time since 1997 when they headline Byron Bay’s Splendour in the Grass. They’ll be joined by a stellar line-up of international acts on the bill including Florence and the Machine, Mark Ronson, Of Monsters and Men and the Wombats. Newcomers Royal Blood will play their one and only Australian show at Splendour. The Australian contingent includes Boy and Bear, Tame Impala, Flight Facilities, the Rubens, Thundamentals and The Smith Street Band. Due to the expanded line-up, an extra stage has been added. FAMILY LAUNCHES FUNDRAISER AFTER ALLEGED HIT AND RUN

The family of 56 year-old Kerrie Edwards, who was seriously injured in a hit and run on the Central Coast last week, has started an online fundraising campaign. The ‘Support for Kerrie’ Facebook page aims to raise money for medical costs, with Ms Edwards possibly facing long term spinal damage. The grandmother of three is reported to be in “high spirits.” A 24-year-old Budgewoi man has been charged over the incident and will face court next month. Read More »

Another big pulse of swell is on the way over night moving quickly up the coast. Very dangerous for boating and rock fishing. Only experienced fit surfers should take it on in the southern point breaks tomorrow. It will be a foggy start into a cloud affected but fine day. MOURNERS PAY RESPECTS TO FOOTBALLER GREG GIBBINS

Hundreds of people have gathered in Wyong to pay their respects to footballer Greg Gibbins who was stabbed to death last weekend. Mourners donned Wyong Roos colours to pay tribute to the first grade player’s passion for the sport and his club. Mr Gibbins was stabbed in an unprovoked attack outside a Toukley pizza shop last Sunday night. 20-year-old Bradley James Brooks has been charged over the 28-year-old’s death. Read More »
