MAN ATTEMPTS TO SET FIRE TO FUEL BOWSERS IN WAUCHOPE

Police are appealing for information after a man attempted to set fire to several fuel bowsers in Wauchope on Monday night. About midnight the man attempted to start a blaze at the High Street service station. Police believe he was intoxicated at the time. MINOR FLOODING FOR HASTINGS AND MACLEAY

The Hastings and Macleay are continuing to experience minor flooding, despite the rain easing overnight. In Wauchope, the Hastings River peaked at 3.68 metres this morning. Rocks Ferry Reserve is flooded in parts, but the waterline is expected to drop this evening. While the Macleay River peaked at 4.6 metres in Kempsey at 11am, causing a number of roads and bridges to remain closed throughout the day.   (NO AUDIO) Read More »

AGL WILL RECOMMENCE FLARING GAS AND PUMPING FLOWBACK WATER

AGL will recommence temporarily flaring gas and pumping flowback water at its Waukivory Pilot in Gloucester, after receiving conditional approval from the New South Wales Department of Trade and Investment. The approval came with a number of conditions including storing the flowback water at an existing above-ground tank and analysing the gas and water samples for hydrogen sulphide daily. LUCKY ESCAPE FOR TRUCK DRIVER

A truck driver had a lucky escape on Wednesday night, after the wheels on the heavy vehicle he was driving caught alight on the Oxley Highway. The 38-year-old Hurstville man was driving east at around 6-o’clock, when he saw smoke coming from his back tyres. He was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital with minor burns and smoke inhalation.
