CLOSURE OF ABORIGINAL COMMUNITIES PROMPTS PROTEST ON THE COAST

The impending closure of remote Aboriginal communities in Western Australia was the focus of a protest in Umina today.

About 100 people gathered to raise their concerns, after the federal and Western Australian government said some communities were no longer viable.

The protest was one of several held across the country and saw supporters sign a petition to give to the federal government.
